An experienced physician leader with a collaborative management style built on integrity and respect and supported by a base of 13 years of clinical practice as a general internist. After overseeing the development and growth of The Doctors' Clinic, a 20-provider primary care medical group, over a 10 year period, and participating in the expansion of our local IPA, I switched fully over to medical management as a medical director at a large, full risk, IPA-model, managed care organization in Los Angeles in November of 2009. My experiences assisting physicians to recognize the value of and participate in strategic planning and culture development have been boosted by my completion of a Masters in Medical Management from USC. I enjoy the challenge of getting physicians to examine things from a process perspective instead of a blaming one and helping them to appreciate the value of demonstrating quality medical care against benchmarks through systems implementation and recognizing and soliciting contributions from team members.
