I have been in private practice working with people, especially young women, overcome eating disorders, deal effectively with self injurious behavior and resolve compulsive shopping for 20 years. With private practice offices in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo, I am able to service two central coast areas.
My approach is heavily influenced by psychoanalytic thought and dialectical behavior therapy, focusing on early relationships, emotional dysregulation and developing effective coping skills and useful insight to live life more fully and with meaning.

My most recent interest is working with pregnant women and helping them understand their emotional and psychological life during pregnancy. In my new group, From a Pea to a Pumpkin: A Prenatal Psychotherapy Group, women can meet regularly for 9 weeks during their pregnancy with other women, share their concerns and hopes in a therapeutic setting that meets each of their needs.
