In my early twenties, I faced life-altering diagnoses of Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP) and Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS). These rare autoimmune conditions led to extensive damage to my nervous system, causing severe demyelination—the loss of the protective covering around my nerves. While I am grateful to say that my illness is now in remission, the journey has left me grappling with chronic residual pain, a constant reminder of the battles my body has endured. Over the years, I explored various treatments to manage this pain, including ketamine infusions. While these treatments provided much-needed relief, they came with a significant challenge: the need for regular administration every three weeks, indefinitely. This lifelong cycle of treatment became both a physical and emotional burden, prompting me to seek alternative solutions to improve my quality of life..
