Daniel built the first Education Internet Service Provider, schoolsnet, in Australia in 1993, the first school specific Internet gateway in 1995, and in 1998, the first Internet portal that linked logins to Internet activity in a centralised infrastructure. He went on to conceive, design, and develop the e-learning platform, myinternet.

From 2008 Daniel went on to conceive and lead the National Schools Interoperability Program (NSIP), a MCEETYA project. NSIP created a national standard for information exchange between systems and a blue print for collaboration between the different local and national stakeholders. NSIP also conducted over 24 development projects to support ICT in Federal and State Education departments as well as developing a Cloud Strategy and the National Identity Management Framework (NIMF).

In 2014 Daniel made the move to New York and has provided assistance to American State Education Departments, Districts and Regional Information Centers and key education technology providers. During this time he has managed and completed the pilot phase of the RIC One Project for the NY State Education Department. Daniel managed the architecture and design requirements for RIC One including a holistic software system that will allow NY Regional Information Centres (RICs) to offer services to their districts: a Data Interoperability API and an Identity Federation system.

Daniel, acted as Program Lead on the k12 Federation project, funded by The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which involves collaboration between four States on the complexities of making the implementation of interoperability practical and in developing tools to enable secure digital eco-systems.

Daniel has returned to the commercial sector with the launch of a new blended literacy mobile application MoxieReader.
