Dani Klein Modisett has 20 years experience working in all areas of storytelling, from performing to writing/directing and producing. In recent years she has been more focused on writing and producing, publishing two books, most recently, "Take My Spouse, Please," (Shambhala Press) and before that "Afterbirth...stories you won't read in a parenting magazine." (St. Martin's Press)

"Afterbirth..." was based on a live story telling show that Dani produced and directed for ten years in Los Angeles and around the country. It featured stories about the trials and tribulations of parenting by a host of Emmy-winning writers and comedians, all edited by Dani. "Take My Spouse, Please," is about the importance of laughter in long-term marriage and it brought Dani back to stand up with a 15 city tour that she recently completed in Seattle.

During this time, Dani further developed her skills as a producer and director for the Feminist Majority Foundation, by creating and executing their annual fundraisers for 2015 and 2016. These were multi-media events honoring Shonda Rhimes, Jenji Kohan, America Ferrara, Amy Brenneman, the Mayor of Flint, MI, Karen Weaver and more. They were star-studded evenings with key-note speeches (either written or edited by Dani), musical performances, and even a dance number choreographed by Debbie Allen. Each of these events raised closed to $500,000.

Dani has also been teaching/coaching pro's and non-pro's in how to make people laugh after the decade she spent at UCLA teaching Stand up. She has recently moved this work in to corporations, law firms and hospitals helping people in all fields understand the value of a sense of humor on and offstage.
