This is MeAbout
I work with organizations, medical professionals and engineers to identify unmet needs that improve patient experience, efficacy and work-flow. I am interested in human factors issues during medical procedures, communication style in an emergency clinical setting, and product design solutions that empower the patient and healthcare workers. Currently I am collaborating with an interdisciplinary team at The Center for Advanced Pediatric & Perinatal Education at Stanford supported by a 4-year AHRQ grant. Our focus is improving safety and outcomes in labor & delivery. In addition, I am currently running human studies at three different hospitals to test the efficacy of my product "Primo-Lacto: A closed system for colostrum collection," under my company Maternal Life, LLC. Lastly, I co-teach classes with Dr. William Rhine and Dr. Henry Lee at Stanford's d. school including: "Redesigning The Hospital Birth Experience." (Fall 2013) and "Redesigning the Neonatal ICU." (Fall, 2014) and "Designing For Safety In Labor & Delivery" (Winter 2016). This summer (2016) I co-taught an experimental course to Stanford medical students called "The Empathy Project."
