I am a healthcare enthusiast with 7 years of patient care experience ranging from being a Home Health Aide serving the elderly, Nursing Aide at a nursing home, to a float Nursing Assistant at a prominent hospital in Queens New York. These positions have provided me with the unique opportunity to gain insights on the need for patient advocacy in improving healthcare service delivery. Most recently I had occupied the position of a Service Coordinator, coordinating care for the disabled and formerly homeless population. During this time I began noticing a great need for an overhaul to healthcare inequality and began thinking of solutions to both help patients and health professionals advocate for themselves, with the end goal of heightening patient centered care. Hereafter the idea of Patient Orator was birthed.
