About

I am a highly enthusiastic scientist with 10+ years of cross-disciplinary experience. My areas of expertise include synthesis and characterization of bioactive compounds in the fields of Drug Discovery, Materials Science, Nanotechnology and Biomedicine.

At the JRC I've been working in the field of nanomaterials with a focus on analytical characterization of therapeutic peptides-model membranes interaction, synthesis of targeted liposomes for drug delivery, and development of protocols for quantification and size characterization of nanoparticles in consumer products.

Working at IBEC I gained experience in surface modification and characterization of biosensor platforms, suitable for use in commercial environments.

During my PhD in Chemistry at ICMAB I was involved in the synthesis of chiral organic molecules pertinent to studies of chiral induction at supramolecular level at different interfaces.

My Master thesis work in Medicinal Chemistry was about the design, synthesis and characterization of novel classes of potent and highly selective nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

I master the following techniques: FFF, DLS, CLS, TRPS, CD, NMR, UV-Vis, Fluorescence, FT-IR, Raman, SEM, TEM, AFM, STM, SPR, Biacore, AUC, HPLC, DSC, TGA, confocal microscopy, QCM-D, ellipsometry, contact angle, microfabrication by sputtering, soft- and photolitography I am an action-driven, enthusiastic, goal and detail-oriented scientist, with a desire to be part of a fast paced, dynamic development team in the Greater San Diego Area.
