My primary career focus is in commercializing medical technology and innovations. This includes identifying target applications and patient populations, evaluating the clinical and economic value of the technology, securing reimbursement, and managing marketing and sales. I’m especially passionate about working on products that will help reduce the $2.3 trillion that is spent on chronic disease in the US alone.

A parallel interest of mine is in using data science to improve health and wellness. I believe that digital health is still in the “hype” phase because providers and payers aren’t prepared to integrate this technology into their workflow, and because the technology needs a little more refinement before it is ready for the healthcare industry. In the meantime though, consumers (and in particular the fitness junkies) are poised for widespread adoption which will allow manufacturers to test product features and iterate on algorithms.

My final interest is in toxin-free agriculture. Who knows what kinds of chemicals and toxins we ingest every day? Widespread use of chemicals, runoff that pollutes water, storage containers that leach plastics, preservatives, and all sorts of other things introduce dangerous substances into our food. These measures were once (and for many, still are) necessary, but now is the time to invent healthier ways to grow, prepare, transport, and store produce and food.
