About

Dr Matt was born and raised in the bayous of Louisiana. As a boy, he used old stone models of teeth from his grandfather’s practice as toys and chalk. Today most dentists still mount those same models on a seemingly stone-age hinge articulator to analyze how the teeth function and to position the bite to make appliances and restorations. Dr Matt’s early adoption of digital 3D dentistry, led him on a pursuit to improve current technology, by bringing digital 3D models of teeth to life. His association with Freescale Semiconductor’s Discovery Lab was a key relationship in early stage research, that also facilitated an invitation to present AnatoMotion’s concept at the 2014 MEMS Executive Congress. In honor of his dental family heritage, three generations and a dozen family members, he is passionate about improving healthcare through dental technology. Continuing education, technology development, and his involvement with numerous foundations and associations are a testament of his dedication to dentistry. He has taken hundreds of continuing education hours, most at LVI Global, the leading postgraduate program in neuromuscular dentistry. He is a member the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the International Association of Physiologic Aesthetics and a board member of the Capital Area Dental Foundation. His education includes a Doctorate from Louisiana State University Health Science Center School of Dentistry and a dual Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from University of Louisiana-Lafayette. He was the first private practice user of Oraverse anesthetic reversal in Texas and subsequently became a speaker for Novalar Pharmaceuticals, until its acquisition. Today, Dr. Matt continues to lead a progressive dental practice in downtown Austin, and relentlessly pursues the best options to providing his patients an authentic smile while also driving development of products to enhance dental care.
