Stress was originally defined as "the body's non-specific response to any change the body has been exposed to" and can be understood as an adaptation to any external or internal stimuli. And because each adaptation costs the body some energy, monitoring this energy reveals the level of stress present. Our approach is based on measuring this new variable, which is called STRESS ENTROPIC LOAD (SEL). We can calculate it using a set of standard physiological parameters. The production of the entropy of the human body, which is associated with energy flows, provides us with the necessary information. SEL acts as a general indicator of stress and facilitates its cumulative measurement in a wide range of life scenarios.
