Menso Mentis is the developer of Resilience1, an in-clinic virtual-reality platform designed to help people with mental disabilities readjust to daily functions as part of the rehabilitation process. The platform utilizes immersive environments, which are practiced within a therapeutic setting. The environments offer a variety of simulations that enable the user to practice the tasks and activities of daily living, including interpersonal interactions and stress-provoking situations, within a safe environment in the presence of the therapist. The experience enables the user to gain confidence, enhancing social skills and interpersonal capabilities. The system is controlled by the therapist, including real-time interaction within the simulated environment. Based on a behavior modulation approach, the platform offers a high level of flexibility to accommodate the dynamic processes of treatment and rehabilitation. It can be adapted to different languages and cultures. In addition, the therapist controls various aspects of the simulation, such as intensity of challenges, perceptual stimulation level, social skills required, and unexpected events.
