VOTIS Subdermal Imaging Technologies is developing a system that enables doctors to assess the patency of the foot of people with peripheral artery disease. The device is intended for use during revascularization procedures in order to enable the doctor to understand blood flow and oxygenation of the patient's foot in real time. It is also intended for use in monitoring the condition of the patient's foot during the weeks and months following the procedure, when necrotic tissue, deep wounds, infection, and ischemia can create deteriorated conditions in the foot that often require repeat revascularization procedures or amputation. The VOTIS system generates objective and reproducible data, and once the device is attached to the foot, it doesn't need to be adjusted during the procedure. As a result, it could be a useful component of a robotic-assisted surgical system performing minimally invasive surgery on the lower limbs. The system utilizes multi-frequency photodiodes to direct near-infrared light into the foot. By measuring the scattering and absorption of that light, VOTIS calculates oxy-hemoglobin, deoxy-hemoglobin, and total oxygen saturation.

A HUGE part of what early stage companies, and even late stage ones, need and get on MedStartr is honest feedback from actual patients, clinicians, hospital leaders and industry insiders. It is very easy to get tunnel vision as a founder. Please tell the team that runs this company what you think.
