A.S.S.I.S.T. enables, on the basis of a simple smartphone photo, to obtain an initial assessment of a skin diagnosis with the help of artificial intelligence. State-of-the-art machine learning is intended to achieve an accuracy comparable to that of dermatologists in order to ensure safe and adequate treatment of patients even in times of a shortage of specialists. A.S.S.I.S.T. should never replace the role of the doctor, but rather offer an objective decision-making aid for patients and doctors in order to shorten the latency for diagnosis and treatment, avoid costs and conserve resources or distribute them more sensibly.
