Become a MedStartr Mentor
Mentor or judge early-stage healthcare companies in MedStartr programs, including live pitch contests and online CrowdChallenges. Mentors are a key part of our community and have been since our very first days.
Apply to MentorWhat Mentors Do
That is up to you. At a minimum, we ask you to review contest applications in your areas of interest and to support or advise early-stage healthcare companies in our programs as you are inspired to.
It can be as simple as a LinkedIn comment, or backing a project on MedStartr.ai, or judging a MedMo pitch contest. It can be as deep as becoming an adviser, partner, pilot site, investor, champion or early adopter, or even joining a team, as one of our Mentors did just before a MedStartr portfolio company grew sales twenty-five-fold.
People become MedStartr Mentors for the reason we all work in healthcare innovation: to make it go better and faster. It is also a great way to build your health innovation experience, which is useful in any career and most organizations.
Mentors Who Started Here
Our mentor network is strong because people who get involved tend to rise to lead major programs, companies and initiatives. People like these first engaged with MedStartr early in their careers, and we are happy to have helped and to call them MedStartr Mentors today:
- Michelle Longmire, MD (Medable)
- Richard Park, MD (CityMD, Ascend Ventures)
- Eugene Borukhovich (Medco, Bayer, YourHeath.Coach)
- Sonny Vu (AgaMatrix, Misfit, Fossil, Arevo)
- Cris DeLuca (J&J, Sanofi Ventures)
- Jon Gordon (NYP Ventures, Winter Street Ventures, LifePod)
- Brent Stackhouse (Mt. Sinai Ventures)
- Fred Trotter (CareSet)
- Amy Gleason (DOGE)
- Regina Holliday (73 cents, The Walking Gallery)
And so many more.
How It Works
Based on your stated areas of interest, we send you updates on live projects and projects about to go live. You can opt in to the projects you like and get involved at any level you wish, connecting directly with the innovators.
We also ask you to take part in events and challenges as a reviewer, judge or panelist. The hottest, cutting-edge ideas come through MedStartr, and this is the place to get to know these companies earlier than anywhere else.
How Judging Works
We often need expert judges for our challenges. Apply here and we will add you to our crowd of judges where appropriate.
Our online judging system on every project in a challenge, and for the startups pitching, makes it easy to add your thoughts and help the best ideas reach market faster. Your help makes all the difference and is greatly appreciated by the startups.
