Breathe.me has developed a solution for predicting and preventing respiratory attacks, enabling lung-function monitoring and self-management for individuals who suffer from asthma, COPD, and other respiratory conditions. The company uses an affordable proprietary device along with a smartphone app to allow individuals to better control their conditions. Breathe.me's technology includes an entirely mechanical device that attaches to the user's smartphone and a corresponding app. The device functions like a whistle and generates an acoustic tone that is recorded by the app. A proprietary algorithm then analyzes the recording and extracts spirometric values such as peak flow (PEF) and FEV1. The Breathe.me app includes a disease-management diary that records and visualizes the user's measurement results, symptoms, and medication usage.
