The African pharmaceutical market is surging faster than the supporting infrastructure and technology coverage, which governments and agencies would typically rely on for visibility and regulation enforcement. There has also been a grey market growing in parallel, with thousands of disparate vendors providing the only means of pharmaceutical access. Due in part to this unregulated grey market, recent statistics reveal 17% - 80% of circulating pharmaceuticals, to be either substandard or falsified (depending on the medicine type and location).
