The company's Implantable Peritoneal Ultrafiltration Device (IPUD) is a minimally invasive, fully implantable device that serves as a mechanical bypass to the kidneys to actively, continuously, and nonaggressively remove excess fluid from the body to keep patients balanced at home. IPUD works 24/7/365 to actively treat patients and maintain fluid balance. The system also streams the collected sensed data to the management platform, allowing the physician to remotely monitor the patient and the IPUD's performance in order to provide patient-tailored therapy. Paragate Medical's mission is to reduce fluid overload due to chronic heart and kidney failure, one of the greatest burdens on the healthcare system.
