Philia Labs is developing a continuous, clinically validated biomarker called pre-sleep arousal, so that earlier and more effective interventions to prevent stress-related diseases such as anxiety and depression can be achieved. This biomarker is part of an AI-enabled platform consisting of third-party wearables, web-based technology that can host various programs for comprehensive mental health and wellness strategy, including reporting for individuals and healthcare practitioners. Data from the wearable is collected before, during and after sleep and converted by clinically-validated algorithms into arousal analytics, enabling earlier and more effective interventions. Pre-sleep arousal is a key predictor of mental health disorders, as this is the critical period that determines the quality of an individual’s sleep. The state of arousal upon waking up also indicates the individual’s performance/state during the day.
