Uthabiti was founded on the need to increase access to safe medicines across communities. We share a personal experience of a victim of counterfeit medicines. In 2016 having purchased a drug, contraceptive, off the counter the patient further fell victim to an unplanned pregnancy. Ever since she has struggled to make ends meet! With little education and lack of a stable income, she fends away from poverty and provides for her little one through odd means. With adequate research and a clear show of need of safe health products, Uthabiti started its track and trace of pharmaceuticals and dispensation of safe health products across vulnerable communities, the result being equitable supply and provision of legitimate drugs to communities targeted by counterfeit medicines.
